How to Heat and Cool for Free
I remember when I did my first actual budget and looked at my expenses. I expected the mortgage to be near the top of the list. I even expected food to cost quite a bit.
When I noticed that I was spending over $2,000 per year on heating and cooling, I was amazed. Usually these costs just get lumped in with electricity, gas or heating oil, but I had decided to split them out.
It turned out that MOST of my electric bill was for cooling. And ALL of my gas bill was for heating. I was spending $2,316 every year just for heating and cooling.
I decided that wasn't acceptable and so I started researching ways to cut my heating and cooling bills.
Maybe I went a little overboard because I ended up having absolutely zero heating or cooling expenses when I was done.
And I wasn't even done when I had that result. I figured out a couple of other ways to do the same thing.
Different people have different needs and different resources where they live. In fact, you may live in a cold climate and never have any cooling expenses. Or maybe you live in a hot climate and have no heating expenses. Some people like to travel. Others like to stay home.
In any case, I have figured out several ways to completely eliminate heating and cooling expenses entirely.
If you want to save over $2,000 a year, you can find one of the methods that works for you and implement it.
